Strategic Computer Supplier and Computer Purchase Policy
Following a recent evaluation of the University’s current agreement with Lenovo, we have elected to extend this agreement for one additional year. While certain concerns have been expressed regarding the service provided over the past three years, Lenovo has articulated its commitment to this strategic relationship. During this one-year period, we will monitor Lenovo’s ability to meet key performance indicators. In addition, we will elevate variables of the contract, such as alternative pricing on bulk purchases, additional performance metrics, and improved services to campus.
In addition, the University has a newly implemented Computer Purchase Policy. This policy applies to the purchase of all desktop and laptop computers, irrespective of University funds. Further, all purchases should be made through buyND and check requisitions, Procards, and expense reimbursements should not be used. The complete policy can be found at http://policy.nd.edu/policy_files/ComputerPurchasePolicy.pdf.
