Power Plant Expansion
As part of the Utilities Long Range Plan (ULRP), the Utilities department will be installing Heat Recovery Steam Generators and Combustion Turbines in the new Power Plant Expansion facility now under construction.
These system components are of significant size and weight and will require the temporary closure of St. Joseph Drive from Moreau Drive to the Power Plant entrance as well as parts of Moreau Drive west of St. Joseph Drive during the moving of these items from White Field to the Power Plant compound.
As such, large pieces of equipment will be moved on the following dates:
- Tuesday February 27 – Heat Recovery Steam Generator
- Thursday March 1 - Heat Recovery Steam Generator
- Monday March 5 – Combustion Turbine
- Tuesday March 6 – Combustion Turbine
On these dates, the equipment move is planned from 9am to noon. During this time, the road will be restricted and temporarily closed while the equipment is transported from a staging area in White Field to the Power Plant (see diagram). Traffic will be directed by road signage and University security staff.
