As part of Walk the Walk Week, faculty and staff are invited to gather for a meaningful lunchtime conversation focused on leadership, love, and belonging in higher education.

The Beloved Community Gathering, taking place Wednesday, January 28, from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Smith Ballroom at the Morris Inn, will feature Mary Hinton, president of Hollins University, as the keynote guest. The theme for this gathering is “Margins to the Heart: Love as Transformational Inclusion."

Designed as a space for reflection, dialogue, and connection, the gathering will invite participants to explore what leadership rooted in love and inclusive excellence looks like in practice. Following Hinton’s remarks, attendees will take part in facilitated table conversations, offering an opportunity to share experiences, listen to one another, and build community across departments and roles.

Lunch will be provided, making the gathering an easy and welcoming way to pause, connect, and engage during the workday. All Notre Dame faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.

The Beloved Community Gathering is hosted by Belonging, Engagement, and Mission in partnership with NDHR and is part of the University’s broader commitment to fostering a campus culture grounded in dignity, belonging, and shared purpose.

Registration is requested by January 21 to ensure adequate seating and meals. A registration link and QR code are available on the event flyer.

Those who attend can expect a thoughtful and energizing experience that brings people together to reflect on how love, leadership, and community shape Notre Dame’s mission today and into the future.
