Luigi Alberganti Appointed Senior Director of Campus Dining

Campus Dining is pleased to announce Luis (Luigi) Alberganti has been appointed Sr. Director of Campus Dining at Notre Dame. Luigi will provide leadership to student dining, retail dining, vending, CCE / logistics, sourcing and sustainability, and our dining partnerships with the Congregation of Holy Cross, St. Mary’s College, and Holy Cross College. 

Luigi joined Notre Dame in 2016, and over the past five years has served as the Director of Retail, Director of Student Dining, and most recently, Interim Sr. Director of Campus Dining. 

Prior to joining Notre Dame, Luigi spent 15 years in Las Vegas as a leader in the food and beverage industry. Specifically, he served as the Director of Restaurants at Mandalay Bay Resort and Director of Food and Beverage at Monte Carlo. Luigi also served as General Manager at some of the most premier Vegas restaurants (e.g., Valentino, Diego Mexican Cuisine, and Fiamma Trattoria). 

Luigi earned his Hotel Business Administration degree from Universidad Simon Bolivar - Coastal Campus. He is a first level certified Court of Master Sommelier and a certified Sake Sommelier. 

Luigi lives in Granger with his wife Desyree and two children, Gabriella (age 18) and Fabrizio (age 16). Luigi was born and raised in Venezuela and is fluent in both Spanish (his native language) and Italian. He and Desyree own Gabrizio, a wonderful Italian cafe and bakery in Niles, and Luigi is a board member of the Niles Downtown Development Authority. Luigi enjoys spending time with his beautiful family, cooking, traveling, and dining out.
