The Satellite Theological Education Program (STEP) Team manages enrollments in the McGrath Institute for Church Life’s online professional development courses in theology. Each year, approximately 3,300 individuals enroll in these programs from all across the globe, with over 150 dioceses represented. Courses are designed to provide these individuals with the knowledge, skills and information to enhance their roles as deacons, directors of religious education, catechists, lectors and other ministers.

The STEP Team develops new courses, hires and educates facilitators, manages records and curricular offerings and assists with technical support. The team is also responsible for an outreach effort through the Camino Program, which offers Spanish language theology courses.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Satellite Theological Education Program (STEP) is an integral part of the McGrath Institute for Church Life. This program helps form faithful Catholic leaders and brings the University to the service of the church. Congratulations on winning the Presidential Team Irish Award!
