Bj 7Natural stone pavers were installed inside the Grotto during the first phase of the beautification project.

The first phase of the Grotto beautification project is complete, and the Grotto is now accessible from the south stairs behind the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Natural cut stone is being installed on the Grotto walkways to enhance the beauty of the sacred space and increase the longevity of its walkways.

The project is on track to be completed Aug. 12 when the new north stairs will be open and new memorial benches will be accessible. To see a map outlining the phases of the project, visit the Facilities Design and Operations website.
