The Presidential Team Irish Award program recognizes staff teams that exemplify the University’s Core Values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, leadership in mission and leadership in excellence. A select number of staff teams receive the award each year as a recognition of significant accomplishments, collaborations or initiatives where they demonstrated Core Values. At each home football game, before 80,000 football fans, one of the Team Irish Award winning teams take the field, during a television timeout, to receive the award. Click for information on the Presidential Team Irish Award.

The fourth Presidential Team Irish Award recipient of 2019 is the Warren Golf Course Professional Maintenance Staff. In the three years leading up to the 2019 US Senior Open, the staff took every conceivable measure to ensure the event was successful. The team assumed numerous additional duties while continuing their day-to-day responsibilities for operating both the Warren and Burke Golf Courses.

The Warren Golf Course Professional Maintenance Staff served as liaisons among University departments, event staff and the USGA. They also assisted in planning structures to be located on the course premises, such as player locker rooms, the hospitality and media center, and USGA management spaces. These individuals planned and executed various construction projects, including a full rebuild of the entire driving range and practice facility, a full re-landscape of the entire golf course property, and coordination of all on-course construction, including over 40 temporary structures built exclusively for the championship.
